LAWRENCE, Kan. – Senior Malvika Shukla and junior Valerie Negin had their run in the main singles draw come to an end in the Round of 32 at the ITA Central Regional, hosted by Kansas, on Saturday afternoon.
"Malvika just never could get anything going today in the wind," said head coach Tom Lilly. "She just never found her game against a very tough opponent, while Valerie played some really strong tennis at times, but couldn't capitalize enough on some deuce and bigger points. Her opponent was very good when she needed to be.
