Cedar Falls, Iowa -- The improvement from game one was immense, yet a 25-point second quarter wasn't enough for the win as the Creighton women's basketball team fell to Northern Iowa 55-52 on Saturday, Nov. 28.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 0-2 on the season, while Northern Iowa moved to 1-1.
After a forgettable opening frame that saw Creighton shoot 2-of-19 from the field (10.5%), freshman Molly Mogensen delivered a spark for her team with seven points and three assists to help Creighton claim its first lead.
Trailing 16-5 with 1:48 remaining the Bluejays went on an 18-0 run over the next 7:05 to streak out to a 23-16 advantage (4:43 left in the second).
