OMAHA, Neb. -- Senior Riggs Lennon earned College Soccer News National Player of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 9. The forward delivered the game-winning goal on Friday night against No. 9 Butler.
In a top-10 matchup at Morrison Stadium, Lennon headed in Joel Rydstrand's corner kick for his team-leading ninth goal of the season to lift Creighton to a 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs and move the Bluejays into the top spot in the BIG EAST Conference standings. His nine goals this season ranks second in the BIG EAST, while he leads the conference with seven goals during conference action (four matches).
