All of the pieces were coming together to not be Creighton’s day on Saturday at the CHI Health Center Omaha in their game against Providence. However, a sickness and an injury didn’t turn the arena into a hospital as the Bluejays score the final nine points of the game to pull out a 78-74 victory against the Friars.
With the Bluejays down five points with 1:41 to go, Ty-Shon Alexander hit back to back shots after Creighton’s defense got two stops. Alexander quickly hit a three pointer to cut Providence’s lead to 74-72 with 1:26 to go and then hit a driving layup with 37 seconds to go to tie it.
