The Creighton baseball team looked to build off of Friday night’s shutout against Georgetown on Saturday night, but it wasn’t meant to be as the Jays fell to the Hoyas 6-3 in the 7th annual Military and First Responders Celebratory Game.
A large crowd was on hand during a beautiful Saturday night, the fourth largest to watch the Bluejays play a game at TD Ameritrade Park. After giving up a run in the first inning, the Bluejays quickly scored in their half and things looked to be settled in for the Jays to get another win.
However, Georgetown took the lead in the sixth inning and grabbed three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth, while the Creighton bats went mostly silent preventing a comeback.
