The Creighton men’s basketball team made a return to the CHI Health Center Omaha on Tuesday night hosting Loyola-Chicago in the NIT. The Bluejays got a lead and kept the Ramblers at arm’s length throughout the second half, advancing to the next round with a 70-61 win.
Martin Krampelj led five Jays in double-figures with 17 points and 8 rebounds, while also going 4-of-6 from an extended 3-point arc due to some experimental rules being used in the NIT. All five of Creighton’s starters were in double figures with Marcus Zegarowski throwing in 12 points and Davion Mintz with 11 points, while Ty-Shon Alexander and Mitch Ballock chipped in 10 points each.
