After a tumultuous weather situation in Nebraska the past several weeks with snow, rain, flooding, and cold, the Creighton baseball team took the field at home for the first time this season. On Tuesday night, however, the Bluejays couldn’t get their bats going early enough and fall to their in-state rivals, Nebraska, 6-3.
The Bluejays got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. However, the Huskers then scored five runs in the second and third innings to essentially put the game out of reach early. Hurler Kyle Perry and the Nebraska bullpen held the Jays with four hits through seven innings, and then Nebraska added an insurance run in the top of the seventh.
