Nielsen and Rosonke Lead Bluejays To Opening Day Split at Evansville Softball Invitational

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Creighton softball team split a pair of games during the first day of the Evansville Softball Invitational in Evansville, Indiana. The Bluejays defeated Green Bay 11-2 in six innings after falling to Bowling Green 4-1.

Creighton moved its season record to 8-6 after finishing the day 1-1.

Sophomore's Cayla Nielsen and Emma Rosonke each went 3-for-4 with a double, while Rosonke smacked her fourth home run of the season as the Bluejays downed Green Bay, 11-2, in the night cap of day one.

In game one, the Bluejays scored their lone run of the game in the first inning as Nielsen launched her third home run of the season over the over the left field wall, giving the Bluejays an early 1-0 lead.
