Mills Walk-Off Double Lifts Bluejays To 7-6 Win Over Providence

OMAHA, Neb. – Junior hit a walk-off double to the centerfield wall to help the Creighton softball team earn a 7-6 win over Providence on Saturday afternoon at the CU Sports Complex.

Creighton improved its overall record to 13-10 and to 3-3 in BIG EAST play, while Providence dropped to 4-4 in league play and 17-9 overall.

The Bluejays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sophomore drew a five-pitch walk to open the innings, before advancing on a single from junior and a seven-pitch walk by Mills. Sophomore then pushed Vejovda across the first run of the game on an RBI groundout to the second baseman.
