FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Creighton men's tennis team concluded play at the ITA Central Region Championships on Saturday morning at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
Graduate transfer Oscar Alvarez and freshman Kirtan Patel competed in the consolation round of 16, with Alvarez advancing to the quarterfinals round.
A transfer from Saint Louis University, Alvarez claimed a 7-5, 7-5 straight-sets win over former teammate Theo Ortis advancing to the consolation quarterfinals. Alvarez's run came to an end due to an injury, forcing him to withdraw from the competition.
Patel dropped a 6-4, 6-2 match to Saint Louis' Ryota Fukushima to end his run in the consolation round of 16.
