ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Creighton men's tennis team dropped the BIG EAST Conference opener to Xavier, 5-2, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida on Monday afternoon.
Creighton falls to 4-5 on the year and 0-1 in conference play while Xavier improves to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the BIG EAST.
The Bluejays took the first point of the night with win at the No. 1 and No. 3 double positions. Zach Maline and Shin Inoue defeated Charlie Temming and Shashank Reddy, 6-2, at the No. 3 slot to give Creighton an early edge.
