Men's Soccer Falls To Butler During BIG EAST Championship First Round After Late Penalty Kick Goal

OMAHA, Neb. – The fourth-seeded Creighton men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 battle with fifth-seeded Butler during the First Round of the BIG EAST Championship presented by Jeep, on Saturday night at Morrison Stadium.

Creighton fell to 8-7-2 on the season, while Butler improved to 11-6-1 overall and advanced to the semifinals to face top-seeded Georgetown on Wednesday.

The lone goal of the match came during the 84th minute on a penalty kick converted by Wilmer Cabrera Jr.

Creighton controlled possession for much of the opening 45 minutes. The Bluejay fired off three shots, two on goal, in the first 10 minutes of the match.
