ELKHORN, Neb. -- Nate Vontz tied for eighth place to lead three Bluejays in the top-20 as Creighton men's golf placed fifth at The Stampede at The Creek on Tuesday in nearby Elkhorn, Neb.
A junior from Lincoln, Vontz tied for eighth place with a 223 total after rounds of 78, 70 and 75. He now owns six rounds of par or lower this season and back-to-back top-10 finishes.
Tying for 13th place was Charlie Zielinski. The freshman from Skutt Catholic started with a 77 before improving with loops of 76 and 72 for the 225 aggregate.
