OMAHA, Neb. -- Arthur Kaluma, Ryan Hawkins and Ryan Nembhard simply refused to lose on Tuesday, February 8, willing the Creighton men's basketball team to a 54-52 victory over Butler in the CHI Health Center. Kaluma and Hawkins powered the Creighton offense with 31 combined points, but it was Nembhard in the final minute that secured the win.
The win lifted Creighton to 14-8 on the season and 6-5 in BIG EAST action, while Butler fell to 11-13 overall and 4-9 in conference play.
Trailing 52-51 with under 35 seconds remaining, freshman Trey Alexander grabbed an offensive rebound.
