Ames, Iowa - Creighton women's cross country junior Emily Martin finished in an impressive eighth of 225 at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Ames, Iowa, on Friday. Not only did her time of 20:22.8 equal the existing school record for a 6K race, but could make her the first cross country runner in Creighton history to qualify for the national meet.
Martin's status for the national meet will be announced on Saturday.
Martin's time matched Lauren Ogg's previous school record, and also gave her the best finish in program history for a Bluejay at the Regional meet.
