Omaha, Neb. -- In front of better than 1,200 fans, the Creighton women's soccer team was locked in a scoreless battle with under three minutes remaining in regulation. A late challenge from junior led to an empty net goal by freshman as the Bluejays defeated Iowa State, 1-0, on Friday, Sept. 6 in the first match of Creighton's 8th Annual Socctoberfest.
The win pushed Creighton to 3-1-0 on the season, while Iowa State fell to 1-3-0.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 8 as the Bluejays battle Eastern Michigan at 1:00 pm in Morrison Stadium.
