OMAHA, Neb. – Freshman Jake Ashford delivered a golden goal to lift the Creighton men's soccer team to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Butler on Saturday at Morrison Stadium during Creighton's Senior Night.
The Bluejays improved to 8-6-1 on the year and 4-4-0 in BIG EAST play, while moving into sole possession of fourth place in the league standings with one match remaining. Butler fell to 9-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference action.
Ashford converted the golden goal during the 105th minute, rebounding a header attempt from senior Bryce Gibson.
