Emily Martin Takes 86th at NCAA Cross Country Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Creighton University junior Emiliy Martin finished 86th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville on Saturday.

Martin was competing as Creighton's first qualifier in program history to reach the NCAA Championships.

New Mexico's Ednah Kurgat took first in the women's race with a time of 19:19.42, eight seconds ahead of Washington's Amy-Eloise Neale's 19:26.93. Led by Kurgat and three additional top-11 finishers, the Lobos claimed the national championship with 90, edging out San Francisco with 105.

Syracuse runner Justyn Knight held off the Northern Arizona pair of Matthew Baxter and Tyler Day to grab the men's 10K individual championship.
