Lincoln, Neb. -- Teddy Deters delivered a historic moment in his first season as a Bluejay, blasting a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to lift Creighton to a 6-4 win over Nebraska on Tuesday, April 16.
The win pushed Creighton to 27-7, while Nebraska fell to 23-11.
Trailing 3-2 entering the top of the ninth the Bluejays sent Matt Scherrman to the plate as a pinch-hitter. Scherrman belted a 1-2 pitch to right field. Just as Scherrman did, Nolan Sailors fell behind 0-2 but laced a single through the left side.
