OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's tennis sophomore Yuma Daijima and junior Alejandro Gandini were named the BIG EAST Male Doubles Team of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Daijima and Gandini teamed up at the No. 3 doubles position last week, posting a perfect 2-0 record to guide the Bluejays to a pair of victories over Chicago State (6-1) and DePaul (4-3) in the Windy City last weekend.
The duo gave the Bluejays an early advantage with a quick 6-1 victory over Chicago State's Pedro Alvarez and Max Sandoval in Creighton's 6-1 victory over the Cougars on Friday.
