OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball setter Madelyn Cole has been named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
A junior from Dallas, Texas, Cole led Creighton with 4.00 digs, 10.17 assists and 0.83 aces per set while hitting .400 in a pair of 3-0 wins last weekend. The victories clinched a fifth straight BIG EAST regular-season title for the Bluejays, and the No. 1 seed in this year's BIG EAST Championship.
Cole started her week with 32 assists, eight digs, three blocks, two aces and two kills in a 3-0 victory over Georgetown.
