New York, N.Y. -- Creighton Baseball's Dominic Cancellieri was been named as the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 11 after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the Bluejays 12-1 triumph over Georgetown on Saturday, April 9.
Cancellieri, a sophomore transfer from Notre Dame, lost his no-hit bid with two outs in the sixth inning to a Ubaldo Lopez single. The right hander finished the day to a standing ovation from the Charles Schwab Field crowd with a final line of one earned run surrendered on two hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings of work.
