Cancun, Mexico -- Powered by a combined 58 points from seniors Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly, the Creighton Women's Basketball team completed a 2-0 trip to the Cancun Challenge on Friday, November 24. In its three trips to Cancun (2012, 2019 & 2023), the Bluejays are now 6-0.
Creighton moved to 5-1 on the season, while dropping Michigan State to 5-1 following Friday's result.
Trailing 5-2 (8:05) the Bluejays took control of the opening quarter with 12 consecutive points to surge ahead 14-5 (5:28). Three pointers from Maly and fellow senior Molly Mogensen flipped the early momentum, then free throws by Jensen and four straight points by senior Emma Ronsiek gave Creighton the nine-point advantage.
