Uncasville, Conn. -- The Creighton women's basketball team suffered a 66-65 loss to Seton Hall as the Pirates hit a shot with 1.9 seconds left to capture the BIG EAST Quarterfinal contest with the Bluejays.
The loss moved Creighton to 20-9 on the season, while Seton Hall climbed to 19-11. The Pirates advance to the BIG EAST Semifinals against Villanova on Sunday, March 6.
Seton Hall played some of its best basketball of the season in the first half, including shooting 75% in the second period. The Pirates success on the offensive end provided energy on the defensive side as Creighton was limited to 39% in the opening half.
