Omaha, Neb. -- The No. 15 Creighton women's volleyball team shook off a slow start to dominate its former Valley rival Wichita State, breezing by the Shockers 3-0 on Thursday, Sept. 19 in the opening match of the 2019 Creighton Classic. Set scores for the match were 25-15, 25-17 and 25-19
With the win the Bluejays moved to 6-3 on the season, while Wichita State dropped to 3-7 overall.
Creighton returns to the floor on Saturday, Sept. 21 to face Wyoming, a Bluejay victory will secure the tournament title for Creighton. Wyoming and Wichita State battle tomorrow in the third contest of the tournament at 2:00 pm (CT).
