Baseball Wins Ninth Straight With 11-2 Win Over Villanova

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball used a six-run seventh inning to pick up its ninth straight win, an 11-2 victory over visiting Villanova on Saturday, April 22nd.

The win allowed Creighton (17-16, 7-1 BIG EAST) to move above the .500 mark for the first time this season and ensured Creighton its third straight series victory to open league play. Villanova dropped to 8-22 with the loss, and 2-3 in conference action.

Creighton's six-run outburst came on just two hits in a half-inning that lasted nearly 35 minutes. Bryce Only walked to start the frame and end the night of Preseason BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Hunter Schryver.
