OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Xavier on Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
The win gives Xavier (19-24, 9-2 BIG EAST) the head-to-head series win over Creighton (25-10, 6-3 BIG EAST), and keeps the Musketeers in first place of the BIG EAST standings.
Xavier was shutout for the first 14 innings on Sunday, but got all the offense it would need in the top of the sixth inning. Bluejay starter Evan Johnson (5-2) issued one-out walks to Kody Darcy and Conor Grammes, which came back to bite the Bluejays as a single from Jake Shepski loaded the bases.
