Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball team closed its 2018 regular season with a 7-2 loss to the California Golden Bears on Saturday, May 19.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 34-16 in 2018, while Cal moved to 30-21.
The Golden Bears got on scoreboard first with a double, a sacrifice bunt and an RBI groundout in the second inning. Cal took advantage of three walks from Bluejay starter Preston Church in the fourth to push its edge to 3-0.
Creighton responded with two runs of its own in the bottom of the fourth as junior Clark Brinkman was hit by a pitch, then two outs later junior Michael Emodi blasted his ninth home run of the season to left field.
