Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball suffered an 11-0 defeat on Friday, May 5 as the Bluejays fell to Xavier in the series opener.
The loss moved Creighton to 22-16 on the season and 9-4 in BIG EAST action, while Xavier climbed to 28-17 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
Xavier starter Brant Alazaus earned the win (6-3) with a complete game shutout, while Creighton starter Dominic Cancellieri took the loss (2-2). Cancellieri allowed eight runs on nine hits over four innings.
Offensively the Bluejays got two of their five hits from senior Jack Grace and a pinch-hit double from Colby Canales.
