NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Creighton University guard Ty-Shon Alexander has been honored as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.
Alexander had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists in just 21 minutes in Creighton's 92-88 win at No. 20 Northwestern last Wednesday. Alexander made 5-of-8 shots from the field and 4-of-6 three-point tries.
The Charlotte, N.C., native had 11 points and an assist during a span of 3:49 as Creighton bolted to a 44-29 lead in the first 15 minutes. Alexander's only bucket of the second half was a three-pointer with 11:37 to play after Northwestern had closed within one point (66-65).
