OMAHA, Neb. -- The No. 17 Creighton Volleyball team survived a scare from crosstown rival Omaha but used the momentum from a second set comeback to fuel a 3-2 victory over the host Mavericks on Saturday afternoon at Baxter Arena.
Scores of the match in favor of Creighton were 29-31, 25-23, 25-14, 23-25, 15-13.
The first set was a battle, with Creighton not taking its first lead until going ahead 24-23 on a block from Kiara Reinhardt and Kendra Wait. CU had four chances at set point, and UNO two of its own, before a Maverick block on set point gave the hosts a 31-29 victory in the opener.
