Western Kentucky University formally announced Tuesday morning that the Tops will be without wide receiver Xavier Lane, running back Quinton Baker, and linebacker Tyler Obee for the first game of the season. WKU is set to open the 2017 campaign against Eastern Kentucky on September 2nd.
You may remember that a group of WKU football players were involved in a fight on March 5 at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house on campus.
Per WBKO in Bowling Green, the three players and former Hilltopper Cecil Stallings will be placed on a two-year conditional discharge after a felony charge was reduced to second degree wanton endangerment by complicity and fourth degree assault under extreme emotional disturbance.
