Tulane “could, would, shoulda” beat Navy, but didn’t. The Green Wave will lament letting this one get away.
The Tulane football team did not play badly on Saturday versus the United States Naval Academy at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Green Wave did the unthinkable and outrushed the Midshipmen 205 yards to 194. The Green Wave defense forced two Navy turnovers and Tulane managed to score on two long drives with their backup quarterback in the game. But missed opportunities in the form of missed tackles which led to big plays, poorly timed penalties, and a self inflicted safety via a bungled snap doomed the Wave to another close defeat to the Midshipmen.
