Western Kentucky continued their hot streak of 2018 commits for the month of July when Mario Wright of Flossmoor, Illinois, announced on Twitter where he would attend college.
The 6’2”, 205-pounder is ranked #1025 nationally by 247 Sports and as the #40 inside linebacker. He’s also the 23rd ranked recruit in the state of Illinois. Wright had 13 scholarship offers on the table. His top six also included Syracuse, Western Michigan, Wyoming, Northern Illinois, and Miami (OH).
Wright’s high school seems to play a defensive style that’s similar to WKU’s in that it’s more pass defense first and requires the linebacker to cover a lot of ground.
