On the eve of the Iron Bowl Troy sought to leave their stamp on the Alabama football landscape by slaughtering the Texas State Bobcats 62-9.
Trojans quarterback Brandon Silvers had a season high 380 yards, four touchdowns and a 223.7 QB rating, leading the Troy offense to a 641 yard performance. In addition, Silvers crossed the 10,000 yard passing mark on the season and moved into second place in Troy history with 80 touchdowns.
The afternoon wasn’t as kind to Texas State’s offense.
Damian Williams and Willie Jones III were circulated in and out of the lineup under center with Williams scoring on the ground but giving up two ill-thrown interceptions.
