Rice WR Rozner opts out of 2020 season, Bloomgren names starting QB

Rice begins its 2020 season on Oct. 24, but the Owls will be without one of their premier offensive leaders.

Junior wide receiver Brad Rozner, Rice’s leader in receiving yards and touchdowns in 2019, has elected to opt out of the 2020 season.

“Rozner has made the decision to opt out this fall,” head coach Mike Bloomgren said in a post-scrimmage press conference Saturday. “He had a surgery and he will opt out of the season.”

After a team-high 770 receiving yards and five touchdowns in his first season with the Owls, Rozner was selected as an honorable mention for the All-C-USA team.
