While Rice’s pass defense has been among the worst in the nation this season, about 30 miles west Isaiah Richardson already is trying to determine how he can help.
Richardson, a 6-foot, 193-pound senior cornerback, has been one of the defensive standouts for Foster High School in Richmond.
“I’ve been working on perfecting my craft,” Richardson said. “I’m trying not to let anyone catch passes on me this year.”
Richardson and his teammate, linebacker Garrett Grammar, have verbally committed to Rice. In practice, Richardson often has to deal with defending wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, a 4-star recruit verbally committed to Oklahoma.
