Initially reported via the Denton Record-Chronicle, it looks like UNT’s QB battle isn’t going to be much of a battle.
With the loss of Alec Morris to graduation last year, sophomore Mason Fine has been the starter through all of the spring drills. Other QBs on the roster, Cade Pearson and Devlin Isadore, have not been seen in the rotation at scrimmages, so by process of elimination that sets junior Quinn Shanbour as the clear backup.
This will give Shanbour a chance to hang back during the opening weeks of the season and see what Fine has learned from his season’s worth of experience against C-USA competition.
