When Wil Trapp met with reporters Thursday to discuss his latest concussion, one of his first comments included praise for the way Crew SC handled it.
“An acute injury occurred and immediately we took care of it,” Trapp said. “Whereas last year, we didn’t know it was an injury (at first) and maybe we weren’t as quick to treat it as we have been this one.”
It’s a telling remark, one that seemed to signify lessons learned by player and club after Trapp’s concussion in 2015. The injury cost the midfielder three months and brought scrutiny to the Crew for the way the team reported it.
