Justin Meram is as frustrated as any other Crew SC player with the team’s disappointing season and woeful home record.
While most say they are searching for answers, the veteran midfielder offered a potential solution — changing the team’s style of play when holding a lead.
Meram said Monday that the club should consider a more-defensive posture when gaining an advantage later in games and not continually press opponents, which sometimes leaves it vulnerable to counterattacks.
The Crew has held leads in 12 of 15 games at Mapfre Stadium this season but owns just four home wins — tied for the fewest in Major League Soccer.
