Save The Crew looks to fill MAPFRE Stadium with a new group

Last month during the annual Supporter’s Summit, Columbus Crew SC head coach and sporting director Gregg Berhalter told supporters that he is looking forward to playing home games at MAPFRE Stadium again in 2018, despite the ongoing unknown of the future of the team in Columbus.

Berhalter hopes the passion of the Nordecke — the Black & Gold’s vocal supporter’s section located in the northeast corner of MAPFRE — spreads throughout the stadium and gives the Black & Gold an incredible home field advantage this season. Save The Crew, a grassroots movement started after club owner Anthony Precourt announced last fall a potential plan to move the team to Austin, Texas, heard the plea from the Crew SC boss and is on a mission to, as they call it, “Fill The ‘Fre.
