For the final time in 2019, Columbus Crew SC will play a mid-week game during the Major League Soccer regular season. The Black & Gold travel to Yankee Stadium to face New York City FC on Wednesday night, both teams’ second game in four days.
After two consecutive disappointing draws at home, the Crew head on the road hoping to keep the slimmest of playoff hopes alive. Columbus is seven points outside of the final postseason spot with seven games to play.
Despite losing two of its last four games, New York City is in third place in the Eastern Conference, only four points back of the Philadelphia Union and Atlanta United who are tied at the top.
