To cap off an intriguing yet challenging year for the Columbus Crew, the Black & Gold defeated Atlanta United 2-1 at MAPFRE Stadium. It was an important win for the Crew, as the victory secured a third-place finish in the Eastern Conference standings and at least one home game in the MLS Cup playoffs against the New York Red Bulls on Nov. 21.
After Major League Soccer’s Decision Day, Columbus captain and center back Jonathan Mensah was named to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance against Atlanta United.
