The 2023 Major League Soccer season is finally upon us, and the Columbus Crew looks to embark on a new journey under first-year head coach Wilfried Nancy, who signed with the club this offseason. With a new head coach and a talented core returning, the Black & Gold hope to improve their standing in the Eastern Conference this year.
However, Columbus parted ways with multiple key pieces this offseason that were part of the magical 2020 MLS Cup run. Former captain Jonathan Mensah, midfielders Derrick Etienne Jr. and Artur, and defender/midfielder Pedro Santos are all with new clubs around MLS.
