Just 15 days removed from their 2-2 draw at MAPRE Stadium on Aug. 10, Columbus Crew SC and FC Cincinnati reunited for the second and final match of the 2019 edition of the Hell is Real derby.
It was a dominate performance from the Crew in the first half with forward Gyasi Zardes collecting a brace with two goals 11 minutes a part. Midfielder Luis Diaz added another goal in stoppage time of the first half to give the Black & Gold a three-goal advantage that they didn’t relinquish.
The lead allowed Columbus to earn its first win over FC Cincy at Nippert Stadium, topping the hosts by a score of 3-1.
