While much of the attention this week in the build up to the Columbus Crew’s Saturday game was about the closing of Crew Stadium, there is still a match to be played. And the Black & Gold’s opponent on Saturday night is an old rival in the Chicago Fire.
The Fire hasn’t enjoyed the best start to the 2021 season, currently sitting on just four points and tied for last place in the Eastern Conference. But as Crew head coach Caleb Porter said this week, Chicago is not a team to be overlooked with the talent on the roster.
