Columbus Crew SC is still winless on the year after they fell to the Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening 3-1 behind goals from Romell Quioto, Alberth Elis, and Cubo Torres.
Houston scored early after Wil Trapp’s back pass to Zack Steffen in the 2nd minute put him under pressure. Steffen failed to see a closing Quioto and the pass was easily intercepted and the Honduran fired a shot past the exposed Steffen.
Crew SC would find some success as they pushed forward immediately after the goal. Columbus would fire off eight shots when it was 1-0, including a shot by Federico Higuain to force a corner and then a header by Jonathan that forced an excellent save immediately following in a flurry of activity in the 28th minute.
