It seemed like an endeavor destined to fail. When Massive Report first reported that Columbus Crew SC would go away from the traditional gold kits in favor of an alternative uniform that would pay homage to the Columbus flag, fans were not pleased. When fans saw what their team would be wearing in 2016, they were furious.
While the Black & Gold (or should we saw white, light blue, red & gold) players and coaching staffed claimed to like the new kits or be indifferent, the complaints from those who had to watch Crew SC in them continued throughout the year.
