Columbus Crew SC has found made its first signing of the 2019 summer transfer window with the addition of Costa Rican winger Luis Diaz in on a permanent transfer as a Young Designated Player from C.S. Herediano.
Reports of Diaz’s addition to the Black & Gold began to come out of Costa Rica late last month as conversations between the clubs continued. Columbus officially announced the move on Tuesday. The transfer will be official on July 9th when the secondary transfer window opens.
“Luis is a young, dynamic player who is already making a name for himself despite his young age and we are excited to welcome him to Crew SC,” Crew resident Tim Bezbatchenko said in the press release.
