The Buffalo Sabres traveled to Ohio to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the rubber match of their season series. The Blue Jackets were looking to avenge a blown lead in Buffalo in their last meeting.
The first period started with the Sabres on the front foot for 15 minutes until 2 quick goals by the Blue Jackets changed the entire complexion of the game. Kyle Quincey netted his first since being traded to Columbus, followed shortly by Cam Atkinson’s 34th of the campaign.
The Blue Jackets opened the second period with 1:26 of power play time thanks to an Evander Kane penalty.
